Portrait of Inventory Use

This survey tool is provided to help groups self-assess the degree to which their work together is on track for having the greatest possible impact on teaching and learning. By giving consideration to the content of professional learning in conjunction with the process, you and your colleagues will be more likely to produce the results you want for your students.

How to Use the Inventory:

  • Step 1: Put your group on the map.
  • Step 2: Invite your team to join you (using the “Add Members” form).
  • Step 3:  Take the online Asset Inventory (takes less than 5 minutes).
  • Step 4: NCLE generates a report of the team's averaged responses for group discussion and goal-setting (see Sample Report).

Sample Inventory Results imageThis inventory has been useful for schools, departments, grade-level teams, data teams, leadership cadres, and more in strengthening their collaborative practices. Whether the group is new or group members have been collaborating for many years, the results illustrate clearly where there is room for growing from good to great.

Re-take the inventory at regular intervals to assess progress and revise the team’s process-related goals.

Use your group space for sharing your team’s progress toward literacy-related goals to become eligible for Center for Literacy Education recognition.
