Supporting Communities of Practice as a Model for Professional Learning
This NCTE Instructional Leadership Series Web seminar features Carla Colmenarez, Rex Babiera, Cindy Kim Bak, Sarah Opatkiewicz, and JoAnn Lawrence. The panelists talk about how educators in a community of practice in Rowland Unified School District (RUSD) in southern California were supported by the system in developing skills and practices in collaboration, deprivatizing practice, using student data as the core of group conversations, and coming to shared agreements about action that emerged out of conversations.
