Why Do Inquiry?

  • File Type: Audio
  • In this highly engaging six minute podcast (excerpted from a longer conversation), Anne DiPardo, author of Teaching in Common and A Kind of Passport, talks with educators who work at Skyline High School in Longmont, Colorado, about the role of inquiry and collaboration in improving their individual and collective practice. The teachers, building principal, and a local teacher educator talk about the challenges and rewards of engaging in ongoing inquiry about their practice (especially in those cold days in February) and how they sustain a collaborative culture despite constraints and challenges in time, resources, and professional risks. “It’s worth it” because of the benefits to kids and your own teaching; and otherwise teaching is like “singing in the shower alone."
